Wine Enthusiast Rating: 90-points
The marriage of California's frontier spirit, coupled with time-honored French winemaking techniques, give depth and nuance to Captûre Wines. For Les Pionniers Sauvignon Blanc, grapes come from the Sonoma County hillside vineyards of Alexander Valley. Aged in neutral French oak for eight months, this is a voluptuously full-figured take on the variety, textured and multi-layered. Creamy vanilla is met by waves of tangerine and peach.
2014 Mt. Brave (Mount Veeder, Napa) – Cabernet Sauvignon - $150 per Bottle
90.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 8.5% Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec
Robert Parker Rating: 95-points
Centered at the peak for which it is named, Mount Veeder is Napa’s largest sub-AVA. The Mt. Brave Vineyard, was established decades ago at elevations ranging from 1,400 to 1,800 feet and sits above the fog line, with morning sun warming the grapes each day. This wine has an opaque purple color, a big, sweet kiss of blueberry and blackberry liqueur, some graphite, a juicy, full-bodied, savory mouthfeel, and excellent purity and underlying balance. This seamlessly rich mountain Cabernet Sauvignon should age effortlessly for two decades or more.
